If St. Peter were alive today, would he ride in a Popemobile?
Would he have armed body guards? Would he live in a palace? Would he be a head of state? In short, WWPD?(What Would Peter Do?) I know these questions are going to "rile" some of you. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I'm having a hard time reconciling what I read about in the Bible and what I see at the Vatican.

Peter? Thrice-Deny-Me Peter? Even the BIBLE says he was a dink. Benedict's probably an improvement, funny clothes and opulent surroundings aside.

It is easy for people to pick on the Vatican. If you are going to determine wealth means evil, then why stop only at the Vatican? Since your nickname is historybuff33 I am sure you know what blaming rich people, for the ills of the world, leads to.

If Jesus and Peter had a popemobile, Jesus would not have died. And Jesus foretold Peter's manner of death, so he would not have been crucified upside down. So, prophecy must be fulfilled. Jesus said the rocks would cry if the children had not shouted Hosannas as He entered Jerusalem. But, concerning the Vatican, it's control of economies, wealth, and infamous history, it was all told us in advance in God's Word, so we need not be surprised. You are right, what you read about the Vatican, does not go along with the Bible.- first of all Peter, denied Christ 3 x's and was restored - and because of that Peter became humbled. No, I do not think that Peter would live in a Palace- even Jesus was born in a humble manger. I am not saying the Pope is not a good man- so Catholics, please do not be offended I just am saying that the idea of a Pope being perfect is wrong- no one is but Jesus- and He lived in a lowly manger. And died a death on a humble cross.
