Why wasn't the Vatican build in Israel? why Italy?
If Jesus was born, walked, lived, preached and died in Israel why didnt they build the Vatican in Israel? why Italy? I mean that is where Christianity was born along with Judaism and the Muslim religion. THANK YOU for answering! :) BTW I am Roman Catholic :)

Because that is where the Catholic church started.

actually the catholic church started in Israel.. but Catholics believe peter was the first pope soo he founded a church in Rome and it's considered holy for us catholic.. because the tomb of the first pope is over there.. also the Pope was saved in Rome because in Israel during middle ages.. arabs dominated and invansions of different empires.. the crusaders tried to recovery the Land but they couldn't.. we know many bishops of the orthodox churches are in jerusalem, jordan,ect.. they represent each apostle.. also we have a leader in the Holy Land.

rome was the dominant empire then. so the emperor constantine wanted to make "christianity" the state religion after failing to destroy it after a couple hundred years of persecusion. in order to pacify the old idolator multi-god pantheism of roman mythology they picked a "saint" to substitute each god. that's why we have hay zeus. mary could be the queen of heaven. joseph could be jupiter, you had 12 apostles to pick from, st peter was picked posthumously and in absentia as their first pope. they even made holidays adjust. ishtar spring fertility rites was now easter. saturnalia, winter solstice would be christmas.

This was not intended by Jesus. It was one of the wrong decisions of his apostles.
