A question about Ramadan (times)

A question about Ramadan (times)?
When you are supposed to fast from sun up to sun set is that literal - I mean - sun up to sun set where you live? Or is there a central place in the world (akin to the Vatican for Catholicism) where that period of time is set? Awesome - you have a back-up plan for the man-Mars revolution.

Your local time, of where you live (and/ ) or work. --- In the future, when men will colonize moon, where there is no 24 day-night cycle [or at the north and the south poles or in space], then most likely Muslims (IF) are going to use Standard Mecca times. Until then it will be local time. Well the above is just a theory :), but Islam is for all times to come so yes (in a matter of speaking). . .

depends on where you live, sometimes each city in the same coutry has different timing, which is like you said, from the sun up to sun set. about 4:30AM to 6:50PM right now, it's alot since ramada is in summer this year. when ramadan comes in winter it would be a lot less, since daytime in winter is shorter. for me I sleep at 7AM and wake up at 6PM to skip it :p
