How is the Vatican City these days?
My mom has a bone to pick with Catholics,and she said that someone she was talking to today said that the city is run down and poorly maintained. Basically pointing to the fact that the Catholics spend their donations poorly. If you have been there, can you tell me if the city is like she says. I mean recently, or if you even live there. Apparently the person she was talking to just went there this year. I'm assuming she meant trash in the streets, faulty street lights, poor public transportation. And most anything else that would seem like they have a low key budget. ok, I put this in religion and spirituality but its more a question of maintenance. The religion part is beside the point.

they are currently ignoring and approving sexual rapes and abuse in ireland. they did such a great job of ignoring it in the united states, their public relations firm is keeping the same campaign of hoping everyone will forget.

We dont spend much money maintaining the Papal grounds if that is what you are asking. The palace is in need of much renevation. There are many leaks and drafts, and parts where new electric, plumbing, and lighting systems are needed.

If the city is kept nice, people complain the money should be going to the poor. If the city isn't kept nice, people complain about that, too.

One second we're Evil because we have the "luxurious" Vatican City and the next we're Evil for the Vatican City not actually being that luxurious at all. Life as a Catholic hey. Well if it is run down - and apparently the insides are quite decrepit in places - it's not because money is being spent poorly (as you suggest) more likely that it's being spent on more important things or just isn't there.
