Why do people continue to read, live by, and quote the King James version of the Bible

Why do people continue to read, live by, and quote the King James version of the Bible?
King James' scribes were known to have made hundreds of errors during translation, and even more purposeful mistakes at the orders of the king... so, WHY in the world are modern Christians still clammering to this manipulation of the original text??? in the 1980's, an Ivy League University graduate translated the Holy Bible, word-for-word from the original text and released it to book stores... the Vatican said that it was evil. ?????????????????????????

Catholics do not use the King James version. Mostly it is American protestants who use it. I think it is because the language makes it easy to manipulate to say what the pastor wants it to say.

I have tried reading other versions, and always come back to the King James version. Makes sense to me
3 :
Because the King James version of God told them so

You can't be this stupid. There is not one piece of manuscript left from the ORIGINAL Hebrew and Aramaic texts of the NT! They are and were ALL Greek from the 4th Century! There is no originals left! GROW UP! Even the Dead Sea Scrolls are from the 3rd and 4th Centuries! Not from the 7th Century BC!

Although the KJV contains several errors of translation there are still many parts where it translates more accurately than most modern translations. I have recently returned to the New KJV because of this. You pays yer money and makes yer choice.

Friend I also read the Aramaic bible also.

"the Vatican said that it was evil"??? I doubt that very much. Here are the Bibles that have been approved for use by Roman Catholics - and many of them received approval *before* 1980: http://www.bibleselector.com/rc_versions.html Naturally, the Vatican has **never, ever** approved of the King James Version!!!
