Who can live in Vatican City? Can people move there

Who can live in Vatican City? Can people move there?
The population is really small, and I've only seen apartments for rent that are for tourists as the rent is a daily rate. Are there rules or standards on who can LIVE in Vatican City?

It should be fairly obvious that ordinary people don't get to live in the Vatican. Not that it matters a whole lot since it's right in the middle of Rome. The Vatican is full of Church institutions, places of learning and worship, there's not a lot of people that live outside of the Church's own people. As for moving to the Vatican officially; citizenship is practically impossible to get if you're not a priest in the service of the Catholic church.

Hi Angie, The Vatican is only 110 acres so much of our Catholic population could not emigrate there. Also you can only become a citizen when you are there in a working capacity and your citizenship is revoked when you finish your time of employment. Many citizens though who work there live in Rome or get sent abroad on assignments. Also while working there you can extend the citizenship to your spouse at the same time though that citizenship is void should your marriage be annulled. Cheers, Michael Kelly
